Relief Is Here is a multi-state veterinary relief & locum service for small animal general practice, urgent care, & emergency clinics, primarily serving veterinary practices in Alaska and California, but open to needs of veterinarians and animal health worldwide. From as short as one day to several months, Dr. Othman would love to know about your veterinary practice’s coverage needs. If you are outside AK/CA, please feel free to inquire as temporary or even permanent licensing in your region may be feasible.

Neda K. Othman, DVM is a graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, class of 2020. She served as a US Army Veterinary Corps Officer from 2020-2024 at Fort Campbell, KY and Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan, proudly supporting military working dogs, troops, their families, and peace in the Indopacific.

She dipped her toe into relief work via Roo in California before joining Soldotna Animal Hospital in Alaska as a general practice full-time associate, where she also gained invaluable experience in emergency surgery and hospitalization; and was lucky to receive the mentorship of four talented veterinarians with over 60 years of combined experience and deep roots in the Alaskan community.

She established Relief Is Here in November 2025, becoming a full-time relief veterinarian.

Dr. Othman enjoys the variety of relief and being able to work in different settings with different wonderful teams any day, including GP, mobile GP, in-home euthanasia, urgent care, emergency, shelter medicine, HQHVSN, and vaccine clinics. She is highly adaptable and has experience with many PIMS including EzyVet, Neo, Pulse, Cornerstone, Avimark, and Shepherd.

She finds deep fulfilment in being a relief veterinarian, firmly believing veterinarians need and deserve to be able to attend in-person CE, spend time with their loved ones, and focus on their own mental, physical, and emotional health. Likewise, that veterinary practices deserve to run smoothly when their doctors are out of office, to continue to provide quality service and support their whole staff, even when between hires or to cope with seasonal caseload fluctuation. And last but not least, that pets and their owners deserve compassionate, skilled, and thorough veterinary care all the time.

Dr. Othman is a certified Peaceful Euthanasia Veterinarian (CPEV) by the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy.

She is currently studying veterinary acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine through the Chi University and UC Davis SVM veterinary acupuncture 2026 program with the goal of certifications in small animal veterinary acupuncture, herbal, and food therapies.

She has completed the RECOVER CPR course as well as Fear Free Veterinarian course.
